This is the personal and professional web site of Dr. Randy "Fly" Russell (sometimes nicknames acquired in Boy Scout camp in 6th grade really stick... and last a lifetime!).
Professionally, I am a science educator with a strong interest in the use of interactive multimedia technologies to support teaching and learning.
- I am currently employed by the Education and Outreach Program at UCAR (the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research) in Boulder, Colorado, USA. Most of my work their involves development of materials for the Windows to the Universe web site and creating and presenting professional development workshops for science teachers.
- Educational background: BS in Astrophysics, Michigan State University (MSU); MS in Aerospace Engineering, U. of Maryland; PhD in Education, MSU
Personally, I like to be active and outdoors a lot. I've played Ultimate Frisbee since pretty near the dawn of time (for 30+ years now!) and am a hard-core, nut-case, four-season bicycle commuter.
